The Backyard

This picture was taken in March. The leaves on the trees still bare.  Even with the lamp post is the Fuji apple tree I planted. I found out that I actually need two apple trees! So back to the nursery for me! The apple tree has leaves on it now too!

My property ends on the other side of the trees, but the dogs think the grassy area passed the trees is our yard too!!! Actually, I think they are learning and just go over there later at night now.

This picture is taken from my upstairs bedroom window.

Can you imagine how much fun it is to try and keep a clean floor in the house after the two dogs go running through the wetland!

It was just this last week that I could finally walk out there. But it started raining again, and it has filled with water one more time!

I think of the wetland as my own personal moat on two sides of my house :) So although it is pretty open, I feel protected with it there. Then on the other two sides are the neighbors, so I haven't felt fearful here at all.

Not sure where I am enjoying the birdfeeders more or the few squirrels that make their home in the trees of the wetland! As long as they don't eat my plants, I like having them around.

I will show you the variety of birds I have been able to photograph on another page.

Here you can see the leaves coming in on the trees and less water in the wetland. This picture was taken from my room upstairs.

Some of the flowers that popped up around the yard.

I planted the primrose. You should see how lush this planter is now!

I planted this and two other columbines. However, 4 more columbines  have
popped up on their own! All kinds of flowers are coming up in this front
planter that looked so bare in winter.

Happy to say we have a raccoon around!

The dogs somehow sense when a critter is around,
so I left the dogs inside to go and take a picture.......if I could find him!
