ABOUT OUR KITTENS
Our cats and kittens are
the love our life! My goal is to provide you with a top
quality, healthy, loving, and playful companion that
reflects the beauty and grace of the Bengal's wild
ancestor, the Asian Leopard Cat.
Every day revolves around
our cats, giving them the best of care and generous
amounts of hugs, kisses, love, and affection. A ten year
old boy, a friend of the family, remarked, "I want to be
one of your cats." I asked, "Why?" He replied, "Because
they have it so good!"
Your kitten is health
guaranteed, has vaccinations appropriate for age, is
registered with The International Cat Association, and
is bred from the top bloodlines.
CONSIDERATIONS
IN ADOPTING A
BENGAL KITTEN
Commitment
As we hope that each cat or kitten we place has a loving
forever home, we ask that you seriously consider the
commitment of bringing a new animal into your home.
Medical Care
Bengal cats
may live up to twenty years. Just as we may have to visit
a doctor once or twice in our life time, there is a
possibility that so may your cat. Are you financially
willing and able to provide proper vet care should the
need arise?
Moving
Do you foresee moving to a new home in the future? Will be
be able and willing to move your cat with you? Sometimes
renters have a difficult time finding homes that allow
pets. Please mull this over before deciding to adopt a
kitten.
Declawing
We are not in favor of declawing. I have seen it damage
the spirit of the cat. Are you willing to trim your
Bengal's toenails every couple weeks instead? It takes
less than three minutes. We personally have not had
problems with cats clawing furniture...........they use
the cat trees we have for them.......but this is something
for you to also consider.
Allergies
Many folks have written and asked if it is true that
Bengal cats are better for allergy sufferers. This may
be true, but is NOT my experience. In two instances my
customers did not know they had cat allergies. In one
case, the allergies became so bad, that they were in
fact hospitalized and could not keep the cat. In the
other instance, the family purchased air purifiers and
were able to take a medication that kept the allergies
under control.
EVALUATING KITTEN
PICTURES
Bengal kittens typically go through a
stage from 4 weeks through 12 weeks which is called the
fuzzies or the fuzzy uglies. The kitten's pattern may be
obscured under some longer hairs or fuzzies. The trick
to evaluating a kitten in this stage is to look beyond
those longer hairs to the beautiful pattern that will
soon grace the kitten. As a kitten grows, its color
typically becomes somewhat warmer in tone. The spots
will become larger as the kitten becomes larger, and
likewise the space between the spots will increase.
Kittens begin life with blue eyes. As
brown/black spotted and marble kittens mature, the eyes
will turn gold, green, or a combination of the two
colors.
We have created web pages to show you
an example of how a leopard spotted kitten develops, a
rosetted kitten, and a marble kitten.

Kitten Goes.
DEPOSITS
Deposits are
recommended to hold a particular kitten you like until
they are ready to go home between 10 and 12 weeks old. We
try to place our cats/kittens in loving homes in a timely
manner, so they may bond with their new family. If a
cat/kitten is held specifically for a Buyer, a change of
mind can quite often jeopardize the chance for a
particular kitten, that has been held back for the Buyer,
to be placed in a home while still at a desirable age. For
this reason, deposits are not refundable.
SHIPPING
Typically, I
prefer to place kittens sold as pets locally. If a kitten
is shipped, the Buyer is responsible for shipping which
ranges from $100 to $200, depending on the airline and the
type of service. The Buyer is also responsible for the
shipping carrier and the Vet Health Certificate
needed for shipping, which adds $60 to the shipping cost.
This does not include the cost of the office visit to the
vet for the health certificate. I will absorb that cost.
